Network Marketer:
Steps To Persuasively Influencing Others

By Joseph Rubino

Your success in network marketing results from your ability to impact others, guiding them with integrity to take those actions that will contribute to their success.

The following sequence can be utilized to guide almost any conversation in order to maximize persuasive influence. Adhering to these principles will typically create an opening to be heard so that you might impact a desired result.

These areas can be touched upon with the intention of developing a bond with your prospect or new distributor, supporting mutuality, and forwarding the action to the benefit of all involved. Whether it be to conduct a successful network marketing presentation, to create the foundation for a solid business relationship, or to enhance communication with others, the principles still apply to a greater or lesser degree.

First -- Create an opening to be heard. Develop rapport, and establish trust and mutuality.

The key to developing rapport with others is to speak authentically about any of several areas that might be of interest to them. These areas include their family, where they live, their occupation, or their hobbies or passions. Getting to know people and to discover with sincerity what it is like in their world is the first step. It’s the basis to understanding their needs and wants. You can teach yourself to listen for how you might contribute something of value to them. You might open up this conversation by simply saying something like, "Tell me a little bit about yourself.”

Once you understand something about what other peoples’ lives are like and what they value, you can then look to establish mutuality. Mutuality answers the question “What do we have in common that would support all parties involved?”

Establishing rapport and creating an opening to explore mutual benefit is the first step toward creating a level of trust. This foundation of trust creates an opening to be heard and sets the stage to take the conversation to the next level.

Next -- Get their permission to actually find out what is important to them or missing in their life.

The courtesy of asking for their permission to look with them to explore possibilities will create the opening to turn what might have been perceived as an invasion of their privacy into a welcomed mutual conversation for possibilities. You cannot possibly know how you might influence people if you are unaware of what they hold to be of value. Address your desire to look with them to see how you might uncover something of benefit to them with respect to your opportunity.

Let them know that the reason for your request to get to know them better is to see if and where there may be a fit for them with you and your company. If you are meeting a new potential business associate, the conversation could be to explore if your company represents the type of opportunity that he or she is seeking. If you are speaking with a new acquaintance, it might be best to explore what common interests you share.

Letting people know the source of your request to get to know them better will put them at ease and allow them to hear your commitment to them or to the conversation.
Speak your commitment to them in some way.

For an opening to be created to influence another, it is helpful for them to know that you share a commitment to supporting them in some way. At the very least, share your interest in exploring the process to see if together you might uncover some mutual benefit.

You might speak your commitment as, "My intention is to look with you to see if there might be some mutual interest or benefit that could come from exploring the possibilities of joining our company. My commitment is to support your efforts in any way that I can.” You might offer a further commitment that, should they decide to partner with you to build their business, your commitment will be to train them, do three way presentations and offer support to the best of your ability.

Create rich possibilities that inspire others to action.

People will be enrolled in whatever it is you have to offer if you are successful in creating significant enough value for them to want to look further. If people are not interested in exploring possibilities with you, take the perspective that you have not created possibilities that are rich enough for them. Take this interpretation not necessarily because it is true but because it empowers you to take full responsibility for the result you wish to accomplish. When you create enough value, people “get” that you are successful and if they join you, they'll be successful too.

Make a request that forwards the action.

Before you can make such a request, you will have learned enough about people to get a sense of what might be important to them. You will have created a listening opportunity for what you have to say and make an offer that supports them out of your mutual interests. Your request will bring you both closer to whatever your intended result might be. Because your conversation has created the foundation for your request to be heard, you have a much better chance of influencing people in such a way that they are persuaded to comply with your request. Your dealings have been integrity-based. You have focused on leaving others whole. Out of the respectful energy you have created, the people are empowered to want to look with you to see what might be possible in terms of your working in partnership together. As a result, you have influenced them with integrity.

You possess the personal power to be able to both persuade and lead others. Master this art and your business will explode as you lead others in the direction that will bring about their success.

Measuring Success

How does one actually measure or define success? Is it being the greatest in your field? Chairperson of the Board? The highest result taker in an exam? Graduating top of the class?

To me, success is not so much achieving great things or having your name up in lights for winning something or becoming prominent. It is all the little things too, things like actually being able to talk through a computer - hey that's one heck of a world wide achievement.

I wonder if way back when, the people who actually thought of being able to interact through a computer ever dreamed it would be as powerful as it has become.

Success can be something simple like actually getting up out of bed in the morning, awakening to a new day, knowing that you still have your health.

Or it can be something more intense.

It can be a dream finally being realised and the knowledge that you can be proud of these accomplishments.

Either way Success is gained from your belief in what you are doing, what you want to achieve and more importantly how you go about realising that goal.

I think though that my greatest success in life is not so much achieving what I have achieved so far Internet wise but in fact achieving the goal of being a WAHM. {Work At Home Mum} Being able to turn off the computer when my children need me, whether it be at home, at play or a school activity.

Being able to switch off Work Mode when Mother Mode is more important. I have never felt so fulfilled as a working parent than I do now.

Being able to drop ANYTHING when 'MUM!' is yelled, has to be my greatest success in life. Just being there to watch my boys grow every step of the way is just such a joy.

Success is watching my children grow day by day. Seeing them master a new step in their life. Both my children suffer from different forms of dislexia, and watching them each day being able to read, write, speak and interact with family and friends brings on a special meaning to life.

Most of all I believe success is what YOU define it to be, NOT what others see it as. Your Success is only Defined by the boundaries that YOU create.

It is only driven by your understanding of what you want to achieve. The Goals themselves cannot be measured by time nor by monetary gain, but by believing in what you so desire them to be.

So no matter how success is measured or defined, it is what YOU believe it is that counts.

Guide To The Care And Feeding Of Dreams

Every one of us, in our deepest reaches, harbors a few dreams. It may be something we want to accomplish or to finish, or do...someday. They may also need some dusting, or retouching, but we all have a few in there somewhere. So what ever happened to theme?

If you are like most of us,you got married, had children, and slowly all those dreams fell into the background as other, more immediate adult things gained importance.

Well, now is the time to take them out into the sunshine! The seed was planted long ago. So, how do we start to grow and nurture them in the face of our everyday lives, tensions, and sometimes overwhelming stress? Here are a few tips:

The very first step on any journey is to know where you are going. So get reconnected with your dreams and make sure it is still where you want to go.

1. Know your personal passion! You probably already know it and it is your dream! But if you aren't sure, it's good to do a little brainstorming first.

One of the best ways to brainstorm for myself is to go to a quiet place with a pencil and some paper. Don't think of anything just start writing. Write down all your interests from when you were a child until now. Just words, really. Things you like to do, areas you are especially talented in, your accomplishments, your enjoyments, what you dreamed about.

Now, start narrowing your list. What hits you hardest? What employs your emotions? What would you do even if you never got paid? What do you like to talk about most? Chances are, those things are what you are passionate about.

Now check and see if some of these will blend together well. Start stringing them together, and see if you don't come up with a special area, job, or business that you can make out of these special talents and interests you have. Once you are certain of your direction.

2. Think action! Any small action that we take toward our dreams generates excitement. So get started right away even if it is reading a book about it, asking questions on the phone, etc. The action can be anything at all, but it will start to propell you in that direction. Even little goals being reached will add to your faith and determination to press on!

One very important first step can be to write your goals down and date them. It is important to add any additional steps you need to take towards reaching your goal. This clarifies in your mind what you need to do next. In doing this you make a committment to yourself, and pushes you toward even more action!

Now, I know that you may not have a lot of time. As women in our society, we wear many hats. We learn multitasking quickly, (a nice collegiate word for saying we have to do everything at once!) and it is something all of us with children experience!

So start with small steps. When I was overwhelmed, my teacher always asked" how do you eat an elephant?" One bite at a time! That is how everything is accomplished, one step at a time. Success never comes in one day, but in many small steps.

2.Cultivate your natural curiosity. Yes, curiosity may have killed the cat, but I bet you she reached her goals and was a happy cat!

This attitude helps you in two very important ways:

First, It keeps you interested in life. Second, you become more open to change. You will begin to see more options for your life, and become less afraid of making them.

Change is the name of the game these days. Those who are the most creative will be the ones that find new opportunities, and respond to them. This always leads to a more successful life.
The best way to cultivate curiosity is to develop a lifelong love of learning.

3. Making a habit of always learning something new. There are so many opportunities for learning now, that you don't even need to leave home! You can take an online class, or receive newsletters in your area of interest. You can also join yahoo or google groups. This makes it very easy for mothers to keep growing and nourishing their ambitions even while taking care of kids at home.

You can also do this by reading. There are wonderful, inspiring books everywhere. This is the information age. Take advantage of it!

Do make some time to take a class at your community college or attend a seminar once in a while. This helps you get to know people in the area of your interest, and you can begin a support group or network that will help keep your dreams alive, and prospering.

Know that your dreams may take time to realize, but with advance preparation and small steps, you will be there when opportunity presents itself.

Helping Others- What's In It For You!

Most people think that to be successful you need to climb up over everyone's dead bodies to reach that unscalable peak. All the while thinking, "It's lonely at the top but I'm the one that'll make it!" That old saying, "Only the tough survive," is a myth, and I'll tell you why! It's all about what Bob Buford calls, "The selfishness of altruism," in his book called "Halftime."

#1. Nobody ever succeeds alone. Everyone needs someone else. No one is an island, and no one has ever succeeded without support from others. If someone tells you that, it's a lie! Don't believe it. We all need someone to help us at one time or another.

#2. I am a firm believer in the idea that thoughts are things. What you put in your mind will usually come to pass. The reason is simple. Obsess about anything long enough, and you will usually end up acting on it. Just ask any serial killer! LOL!

It is the old, garbage in garbage out theory. But it also works this way: Good things in, good things come out! People are drawn to positive people. They look up to them.

Do you want to be a leader in your field? Start adding less garbage, and more positive fuel. Read success books, learn about the accomplishments, of others, and how they did it. Practice it in your daily life and you will see results!

#3. Start to build a network of mutual support. This can make or break you in most businesses. Referral by word of mouth is invaluable. You want to build a good reputation in any business. Go the extra mile, it won't kill you, and your business will gain loyal customers who are also friends!

Caring about others, and supporting them in their endeavors, is never a losing proposition. You will always get it back with interest. If not directly from that person, then from another.

You may receive invaluable help in totally unexpected ways. Here's an example from my life:

When I was started out learning about glass, I lived in Mexico. I needed a teacher, so I asked all the glass artists down here to teach me. "No, I won't sell in Mexico, so I will never compete with you. I am an American, and can't even work in Mexico," I would assure them. Still, no one wanted to teach me.

Finally one glass blower liked me, and he said, "Look, I will teach you for free." He had 25 years experience to my 6 months. What could I offer in return?

Well, we started trading information, and I started learning. It came about that I had learned information in the states that was not yet in Mexico. I had bought some oxgen concentrators so that I wouldn't use so much oxygen. He was spending lots of money on oxygen, which he could cut considerably using the concentrators. He couldn't buy them because he didn't have a credit card. So, I bought them for him.

Now, he is the ony one down here with oxygen concentrators! No one else knows about them. He always said to me "because I was the one that helped you, I won out!" I feel this is a universal truth. Don't be afraid to help others on their climb to success, they may drag you up there with them!

Charting Your Course For Success

Alice came to a fork in the road. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter." --- Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

The key to any successful journey begins in knowing where you want to go. The truth is that most of us plan our vacations better than our life journey. No wonder many of us fail in our reaching our dreams!

The difference between having just a daydream and making it a reality are your actions. Actions speak much louder than words. It has been your small daily steps that has led you to where you are. They will also determine your future.

So, let’s talk about getting there!

Start writing your life goals. How do you want your life to be? What would you like to be different? Think about different areas in your life such as:

1. Career - Eeducational skills you want to gain
2. Financial - Where do you want to be in 5 years? In 10?
3. Artistic - Any skills you want to learn or enhance?
4. Religious - Are your beliefs important to you? If so, do you want to change anything?
5. Personal - Lose weight, live healthier? Change certain habits?
6. Personal - Family goals, more time needed? Etc.?
7. Character- Any attitude behavior, emotional changes I want to make.

It may be helpful to make a timetable. Where do you want to be in 1 year? 5 years? in 10?
By writing it down, you have created a picture in your mind of exactly where you want to go, and who you want to be when you get there! It will become much easier for you to see which steps will lead you where you want to go, and which are merely distractions. This will definitely help you stay on course.

Now, go back to - This year I want to.... and start working on each step you will need to take. Break it down into monthly steps, and then into weekly ones.

When you get to weekly steps, write them into your list of things to do every day. You have just created your own stepping stones to success!

Review your progress weekly, and make course alterations as necessary. Remember all is not engraved in stone. You may find that you will need additional steps, or vary in a slightly different direction than you first thought. This is part of the excitement of the journey.

Some thoughts about writing goals:

1. Remember that you are human and you cannot have, or do everything. And especially not all at once! No one can be a perfect mother, business tycoon, and symphony artist at once! If you try to run in all directions you will fail in all. Even when breaking bad habits, it is extremely difficult to change everything in your life, so choose your priorities.

2. Make sure that your goals are not at odds with your values. For example, if you value freedom, and one of your goals involves working 16 hour days in an office, you will not be happy with your choice, even if you succeed at being CEO of the company. Take a good look at what you really want and choose appropriately.

3. Create small distinct, measurable steps that will help you achieve your goals. One example of this is: By this date I will...it can be take a class, talk to the small business administration, buying an instrument, etc. Just set a date for it. This way you will know that you have accomplished it! Write all your steps this way.

4. Don't set impossible timetables or you will become discouraged. By the same token don't make it so far away that you don't even start! Moderation in everything, but make it something that you can achieve and celebrate. Don't concentrate on only one final goal but enjoy your small victories. Life is made up of all the little things. Don't miss out on it!

5. Don't worry about the outcome. You can't control that. You can only control your actions, so concentrate doing the very best you can do.

Have fun, and good luck!

You Need SAUSAGE To Be Successful
In Network Marketing!

Being involved in Network Marketing can be personally and financially rewarding. Being successful and having a lucrative income doesn't just happen, it takes time and effort. There is no guarantee of success. However, certain things can greatly improve your chances of being successful.

By the way, if someone says they can guarantee your success, be leery of such offers. There might be a proven formula that you can follow, but your success still depends on your own efforts and your ability to follow the proven methods.

This article uses the letters of the word sausage to represent the fundamental things that are needed to have lasting success in Network Marketing. It's an effective way to remember the basics.

S - System
A - Attitude
U - Understanding
S - Solutions
A - Action
G - Guidance
E - Enthusiasm

System - By system, I mean a way to advertise and promote your opportunity. There are 3 main parts to a good system:

1. Ads and promotions to get traffic coming to your site.
2. An interesting site that makes people want to know more.
3. Autoresponder messages to follow up with your prospects.

Many opportunities have their own marketing system. Also, someone in the upline can tell you what works best for that opportunity.

Attitude - It is important to have a positive attitude. A big part of that is believing in yourself and your product or service. Your positive outlook and your success-oriented mind-set can help give you the energy and the drive you need to accomplish whatever goal you wish to attain.

Understanding - You need to understand that success and the desired income does not happen overnight. You should know from the start what is required in terms of time, effort, and money, to reach your desired level of success. Find someone who has reached a level of success you want to reach for yourself and ask about the methods they used and how long it took to get there. Keep in mind that even with a proven formula, different people may get different results.

Solutions - Forget about trying to sell anything, offer solutions instead! Most Network Marketing businesses will have two types of solutions; one type from the product or service and one type from the opportunity itself. For example, if you provide long distance phone service, it could be a solution to high phone bills. The opportunity may be a solution for people who want to work from home and spend more time with their children.

Action - You may have the World's best marketing system or an experienced mentor to guide your every step, but you still need to make it happen by taking action! You should have a weekly and a monthly plan that you're able to follow. The plan should include reviewing/updating ads, answering questions from your prospects, participating in conference calls, and doing whatever it takes to run your business.

Guidance - The successful people in an organization should offer guidance and support to help others become successful. People just getting started or people who want to take their business to a higher level should seek out those who have already been downthat road. Helping others and passing along tips helps increase the retention rate and makes the experience more profitable and enjoyable for more people.

Enthusiasm - You should be enthusiastic because it will be reflected in your phone calls and written messages. People respond more favorably to what you say about your product or opportunity when you are positive. It is good to be upbeat, but don't overdo it. You can most likely think of someone you've met who is so bubbly that they seem to be hyperactive and/or hysterical. That's not the best impression to make.

There are many good Network Marketing opportunities available. It's important to check out the one that interests you the most and ask yourself if you are ready to do what it takes to make things happen. The basic approach outlined in this article, along with patience and persistence, is what you need to increase your chances of being successful in network marketing.

Achieving Success By Expecting Success

When you plan and prepare carefully, you can legitimately expect to have success in your efforts. When you recognize and develop the winning qualities that you were born with, the winner you were born to be emerges. When you plan and prepare to make a sale, for example, you can legitimately expect to make a sale. Although not all your expectations are going to come to pass, you give yourself an infinitely better chance of succeeding by taking the proper steps. Regardless of your goal--losing weight, making more sales, furthering your education, earning a promotion, saving money for a new home or an exotic vacation--you can expect to achieve your goal if you plan and prepare for it.

Also understand that the path from where you are to where you want to be is not always smooth and straight. The reason for the twists and bumps is simple, and it has nothing to do with you. It has more to do with the fact that not everyone is as interested in your success as you are. Some people may accidentally hinder your efforts; others who are in competition with you and have little or no integrity may try to sabotage your efforts.

Keep in mind, though, that when you hit those roadblocks your character, commitment, and attitude are the determining factors in your success. . . Carefully review your plan of action, seek wise counsel, and be particularly careful to feed your mind good information. An optimistic, positive mind is far more likely to come up with creative solutions than a mind that dwells on setbacks and difficulties.

Bottom line: expect success and you can achieve it!

Turning Liabilities Into Assets

A group of villagers in the Orient decided that a towering hill with a bamboo thicket on top had to be leveled so that the ground could be used for farming purposes. That same hill in the USA would have required the aid of giant earthmoving equipment to level the ground, but the Oriental mind didn’t see things quite that way.

Thousands of people who lived in the immediate area got together and started removing the hill basket by basket of dirt. They handed down the baskets from top to bottom, and in some cases the lines were two miles long. For many days it seemed as though nothing was happening; the hill was not disappearing. But over a period of time, due to incredible teamwork and the commitment of thousands of people, the hill was leveled to a beautiful, flat farming area.

By their example, the Orientals demonstrated that when we are confronted with seemingly impossible tasks, if we break them down into small segments--or one basket at a time--we can literally accomplish the impossible and move mountains. The villagers took a liability and turned it into an asset. Think about it. Examine your liabilities--maybe you can convert them to assets, even if it’s just a basket at a time.

Enterprise Is Better Than Ease

If we are involved in a project, how hard should we work at it? How much time should we put in?

Our philosophy about activity and our attitude about hard work will affect the quality of our lives. What we decide about the rightful ratio of labor to rest will establish a certain work ethic. That work ethic - our attitude about the amount of labor we are willing to commit to future fortune - will determine how substantial or how meager that fortune turns out to be.

Enterprise is always better than ease. Every time we choose to do less than we could, this error in judgment has an effect on our self-confidence. Repeated every day, we soon find ourselves not only doing less than we should, but also being less than we could. The accumulative effect of this error in judgment can be devastating.

--- FORTUNATELY, IT IS EASY TO REVERSE THE PROCESS ---

Any day we choose we can develop a new discipline of doing rather than neglecting. Every time we choose action over ease or labor over rest, we develop an increasing level of self-worth, self-respect and self-confidence. In the final analysis, it is how we feel about ourselves that provides the greatest reward from any activity. It is not what we get that makes us valuable, it is what we become in the process of doing that brings value into our lives. It is activity that converts human dreams into human reality, and that conversion from idea into actuality gives us a personal value that can come from no other source.

So feel free to not only engage in enterprise, but also to enjoy it to it's fullest along with all the benefits that are soon to come!

Developing Desire to Succeed

Here are three methods of developing a burning desire to succeed. They will work - if you want them to.

1. The greatest obstacle to developing desire is a conviction that we’ll never be able to fulfill it. So many people discourage desire to avoid the frustration they may encounter. If you don’t have a burning desire to better your life, you’re cheating yourself and your loved ones with phony excuses. You’re choosing a level of life that’s poor compared to what you could have with the extra exertion you’re capable of. The responsibility rests completely on your shoulders and there’s no way you can shift a bit of it to anyone else.

2. Focus on the specific things you want. Make agreements with yourself. When I do this, I get that. Don’t try to make yourself work for nothing.

3. Take it in steps. If you’ve never made more than minimum wage, don’t aim for half a million dollars the first year. The essential element is faith in yourself.

I know former migrant farm workers who came out of the fields and made the choice to become wealthy. And they did. If your sunshine wants far outstrip your cold morning desire, have a talk with yourself, then have a lot more talks. Convince yourself you can and will succeed.

The Seven C’s Of Success

After having studied top achievers and peak performers over the past 25 years, I’ve concluded that these unique men and women, have in most cases, mastered what I call the Seven C’s of Success.

1. Clarity - Eighty percent of success comes from being clear on who you are, what you believe in and what you want.

2. Competence - You can't climb to the next rung on the ladder until you are excellent at what you do now.

3. Constraints - Eighty percent of all obstacles to success come from within. Find out what is constraining in you or your company and deal with it.

4. Concentration - The ability to focus on one thing single-mindedly and see it through until it’s done takes more character than anything else.

5. Creativity - Flood your life with ideas from many sources. Creativity needs to be exercised like a muscle, if you don't use it you'll lose it.

6. Courage - Most in demand and least in supply, courage is the willingness to do the things you know are right.

7. Continuous learning - Read, at the very least, one book a week on business to keep you miles ahead of the competition. And just as you eat and bathe, organize your time so you spend 30 minutes a day exploring e-mail, sending messages, going through web sites, because like exercise, it's the only way you can keep on top of technology. If you get away from it, you'll lose your edge.

Search Engine Keyword Selection

Search engines are the vehicles that drive potential customers to your websites. But in order for visitors to reach their destination - your website - you need to provide them with specific and effective signs that will direct them right to your site. You do this by creating carefully chosen keywords.

Think of the right keywords as the "Open Sesame!" of the Internet. Find the exactly right words or phrases, and presto! Hoards of traffic will be pulling up to your front door. But if your keywords are to general or to over-used, the possibility of visitors actually making it all the way to your site - or of seeing any real profits from the visitors that do arrive - decreases dramatically.

Your keywords serve as the foundation of your marketing strategy. If they are not chosen with great precision, no matter how aggressive your marketing campaign may be, the right people may never get the chance to find out about it. So your first step in plotting your strategy is to gatherand evaluate keywords and phrases.

You probably think you already know EXACTLY the right words for your search phrases. Unfortunately, if you haven't followed certain specific steps, you are probably WRONG. It's hard to be objective when you are right in the center of your business network, which is the reason that you may not be able to choose the most efficient keywords from the inside. You need to be able to think like your customers. And since you are a business owner and not the consumer, your best bet is to go directly to the source.

Instead of plunging in and scribbling down a list of potential search words and phrases yourself, ask for words from as many potential customers as you can. You will most likely find out that your understanding of your business and your customer's understanding is significantly
different.

The consumer is an invaluable resource. You will find the words you accumulate from them are words and phrases you probably never would have considered from deep inside the trenches of your business.

Only after you have gathered as many words and phrases from outside resources should you add your own keyword to the list. Once you have this list in hand, you are ready for the next step: evaluation.

The aim of evaluation is to narrow down your list to a small number of words and phrases that will direct the highest number of quality visitors to your website. By"quality visitors" I mean those consumers who are most likely to make a purchase rather than just cruise around your site and take off for greener pastures. In evaluating the effectiveness of keywords, bear in mind three elements: popularity, specificity, and motivation.

Popularity is the easiest to evaluate because it is an objective quality. The more popular your keyword is, the more likely the chances are that it will be typed into a search engine which will then bring up your URL.

You can now purchase software that will rate the popularity of keywords and phrases by giving words a number rating based on real search engine activity. Software such as WordTracker will even suggest variations of your words and phrases. The higher the number this software assigns to a given keyword, the more traffic you can logically expect to be directed to your site. The only fallacy with this concept is the more popular the keyword is, the greater the search engine position you will need to obtain. If you are down at the bottom of the search results, the consumer will probably never scroll down to find you.

Popularity isn't enough to declare a keyword a good choice. You must move on to the next criteria, which is specificity. The more specific your keyword is, the greater the likelihood that the consumer who is ready to purchase your goods or services will find you.

Let's look at a hypothetical example. Imagine that you have obtained popularity rankings for the keyword "automobile companies." However, you company specializes in bodywork only. The keyword "automobile body shops" would rank lower on the popularity scale than "automobile companies," but it would nevertheless serve you much better. Instead of getting a slew of people interested in everything from buying a car to changing their oil filters, you will get only those consumers with trashed front ends or crumpled fenders being directed to your site. In other words, consumers ready to buy your services are the ones who will immediately find you. Not only that, but the greater the specificity of your keyword is, the less competition you will face.

The third factor is consumer motivation. Once again, this requires putting yourself inside the mind of the customer rather than the seller to figure out what motivation prompts a person looking for a service or product to type in a particular word or phrase. Let's look at another example, such as a consumer who is searching for a job as an IT manager in a new city. If you have to choose between"Seattle job listings" and "Seattle IT recruiters" which do you think will benefit the consumer more? If you were looking for this type of specific job, which keyword would you type in? The second one, of course! Using the second keyword targets people who have decided on their career, have the necessary experience, and are ready to enlist you as their recruiter, rather than someone just out of school who is casually trying to figure out what to do with his or her life in between beer parties. You want to find people who are ready to act or make a purchase, and this requires subtle tinkering of your keywords until your find the most specific and directly targeted phrases to bring the most motivated traffic to you site.

Once you have chosen your keywords, your work is not done. You must continually evaluate performance across a variety of search engines, bearing in mind that times and trends change, as does popular lingo. You cannot rely on your log traffic analysis alone because it will not tell you how many of your visitors actually made a purchase.

Luckily, some new tools have been invented to help you judge the effectiveness of your keywords in individual search engines. There is now software available that analyzes consumer behavior in relation to consumer traffic. This allows you to discern which keywords are bringing you the most valuable customers.

This is an essential concept: numbers alone do not make a good keyword; profits per visitor do. You need to find keywords that direct consumers to your site who actually buy your product, fill out your forms, or download your product. This is the most important factor in evaluating the efficacy of a keyword or phrase, and should be the sword you wield when discarding and replacing ineffective or inefficient keywords with keywords that bring in better profits.

Ongoing analysis of tested keywords is the formula for search engine success. This may sound like a lot of work -and it is!- Kinda! But the amount of informed effort you put in to your keyword campaign is what will ultimately generate your business' rewards.

5 Simple Words

There are five simple words we need to use to have a prosperous life:

1. YES! Simply say "yes" to your dreams and allow yourselves to actively pursue your dreams.

2. NO! Learn to say "no" when you need to say no. Success is being able to set limits about what you don't want in your lives.

3. OUCH! Allow yourself to feel pain and recognize what is causing your pain. Know that pain is a healthy warning system for you to take some action.

4. NEXT! Fully experience your challenges and accomplishments and have completion with what you start. Know when it is time to move on to your next…

5. WOW! Be fully in the present and really experience life—events and people in your lives, achieving goals and having things, enjoying simple pleasures such as good tastes, touches, sights, sounds, smells, etc. Be fully aware of all your blessings! Know that all of life is an experiment, so enjoy the process!

"Mind Your Business!"

Folks, as I sat an contemplated writing on this subject I did as I always do, and that is research it and see what others have written on it.

Well, I found this article and it completely blew me away. Why? Because the information and the points made in Michael's article are almost exactly what I wanted to get across.

I felt that I couldn't have written it any better or even approached it from another angle. So, I published his article here instead of mine.

ENJOY!

*************************************
"Mind Your Business!"

Here you go again," says your spouse (or your best friend). "Don't tell me you are trying another home business. Haven't you learned from the last one? Didn't you lose enough money already? Maybe you are just not cut out for it. Why can't you settle for a steady job like everyone else?"

In a split second of self-pity, you agree. The reasoning is logical. After all, you must have tried a dozen home businesses, everything from Amway to zero down real estate. Yet nothing seemed to work for you. Still, deep inside you yearn for more. You refuse to accept the destiny 97% of the population is running toward, retirement in poverty.

The Ultimate Barrier

Excuses for failure are a dime a dozen. "My upline never supported me", "the products were too expensive", "the economy just isn't good right now". These and hundreds of others make up the battle cry to justify failure. However the true underlining cause of failure is held within the mind of each individual who utters the fore mentioned excuses.

In other words, the ultimate barrier to success is your own mind. Your mind dictates whether you will succeed or fail in every undertaking in your life. If your mind is prepared and conditioned to accept wealth and success, nothing will stop you from attaining it. On the other hand, if your mind is not prepared, no wealth building system in the world, no matter how good it may be, will pan out for you.

A perfect example is a mail-order business. Millions have attempted them and failed. Yet some have started mail-order businesses from scratch, built the business and within a few short years became millionaires.

Those "lucky" mail-order millionaires faced the same problems and obstacles as all the other millions who failed, however somehow they found a way to overcome. The key difference is the beliefs that were held in the mind. The belief that success was "theirs". The belief that they would find the answers to any situation drove them to continue when challenges came up.

Realize now that belief is a state of mind. In fact, it is a superior mental state that can be developed by anyone. Those who conquer in any business, utilize belief. Those who fail don't. There in lies the problem. One of the biggest mistakes that most people make when they come up against failure is quit and begin a new venture. Instead of looking inside, most people look outside of themselves for the answers. Huge mistake.

Anyone who tries a wealth building system and can't make money must ask one question, "Is there anyone else making money doing this?" If the answer is yes, don't blame the business. It is your thinking that is at fault. Jumping on to the next system will not help. Only by changing your mind will you be able to change your success. Only by adjusting your belief will you be able to achieve what you desire. Andrew Carnegie, self-made multi-millionaire and one of the first advocates of the mind/money correlation said, "Take all my money and leave me penniless and within two years I will be a millionaire again. I have set my mind to attract wealth."

How To Use Your Mind To Help You Succeed

The following 4-step process will condition your mind, increase belief and release your creativity. Set yourself up to succeed by flooding your mind with these techniques daily.

1) Set the destination: First and foremost is your decision on a specific goal. Aim high. Dare to dream big. Dreams are important as they set the focus of your subconscious mind. Benjamin Franklin said, "You must first have a dream in order to make a dream come true."

2) Get the picture: Once you commit to your goal, take time daily to mentally rehearse your success in advance. Get a clear picture. See yourself as already having accomplished your goal in minute detail. First sit or lay down and relax your body for five or ten minutes. Relaxation is important because it opens the channels to the subconscious. Once you've entered into deep relaxation, play a movie of yourself as having already achieved your goal. Incorporate as many of the five senses as possible. Find a way to see, hear, smell, taste and touch while running your movie. Practice this twice daily, first thing in the morning and last thing at night.

3) Emotionalize your goal: The fastest most powerful system for mental programming is to add intense emotions to your visualization. A simple way to achieve this is to use music as an anchor. Have you ever heard a song that brings memories to mind? Have you ever listened to the words of a song and felt inspired? Music has an amazing power to create emotions within us. In fact, music also stimulates the creation of pictures in your mind. This is the perfect prescription for subconscious programming. Anytime you can relax, create a mental movie and feel intense emotions, you are taking control of the subconscious. If you are serious about achieving your goals find a few songs that inspire you, songs that create intense emotions within you. Next, make yourself a daily routine to listen and visualize. Treat yourself to a better future by taking five to ten minutes every day to simply relax, listen and see. This is one of the most enjoyable ways to program your mind for success.

4) Snap out of it: A years worth of mental programming can be nullified by a few minutes of doubt. Doubt, insecurity, or negative thinking will destroy your success. You must condition yourself to act first on doubt before it inflicts it's damage. Avoid doubt as if the life of your dreams depended on it. Take charge and destroy doubt. An excellent way to do this is by placing a rubber band around your wrist and giving yourself a snap if any thoughts enter your mind that are contrary to the achievement of your goals. This not only reminds you to maintain a positive mental attitude, it also inflicts just enough pain to get your mind off the thought immediately. A good practice is to replace the negative with a positive thought. Whenever you snap the band, immediately focus on your future success. The key here is to condition the mind to focus on success instead of doubt.

By continuing to practice these techniques faithfully your subconscious mind will begin to take your images as commands. Your belief will grow daily. Things will start falling in place. The people and situations you need to achieve your goals will begin to appear in your life. Solutions to problems will magically appear into your mind at the most unexpected times and places. Your struggle for success will end.

Remember that the keys to your success are not to be found in the next business fad. The keys that will unlock the treasures are held within your mind. You must first see it in your mind's eye before you can see it in reality. Commit yourself to this principle and you will create miracles in your life.

I Know You Can!

If you could see through my eyes,
I wonder what you'd be feeling right now,
Because I can see you standing
As you really are:
Powerful, sensitive, determined, and gracious.

I can see you achieving everything you choose to achieve.
I can see you being exactly who and what you want to be.

Look through my eyes for an instant,
And you'll see yourself
Conquering all limitations.

Look through my eyes,
And see who you really are
And what you are capable of.
You can accomplish anything!

I Know You Can!

"How Much Will You Accomplish, Today?"

You will accomplish precisely what you decide to accomplish. If you're unable to decide, or unable to focus your considerable energy in a particular direction, not much is going to happen.

What have you decided to accomplish today?
How have you decided to make the best use of the precious moments that make up this day?

There's plenty of time and there are plenty of resources available to you, when you've made the clear and resolute decision to get something done.

Even when you avoid making a decision, that's a decision to stand still and to waste the precious time which you could be using to move yourself forward.

Life is a non-stop adventure when you decide to make it so. You are immersed in possibilities. So grab on to the best of them and make something wonderful with the good things you have. Others have done it, and you can too.

The hours, the days and the years can serve you or they can oppress you. It all depends on what you decide to do with them. Decide to reach for the best, and experience the joy of getting there.
